Who should apply?

Students who are South African citizens.
Students whose combined family income is less than R350 000.
All new applicants (matriculants) or students who passed Grade 12 in previous years, but never registered at any university.
Students who have never received NSFAS funding.
However, if a student does not register in the subsequent year of funding and have taken a “gap year”, a student will be required to re-apply.
Ensure to monitor your status, and if any missing documents are required, ensure to submit them, as only a limited time will be given to respond.
The N+1 Rule applies to all students who receive financial aid from NSFAS.
The N+2 Rule applies to students with disabilities.
Students living with disabilities whose combined family income is less than R600 000.
Students with disabilities must report to the Financial Aid Office for further assistance after registration.
