NSFAS-Funded TVET Colleges 2026-2027: Eligibility, Courses & Application:
There are about fifty public Tvet Colleges in South Africa that operate under the Departments of Higher Education and Training with over 360 campuses across the provinces of the nation. In other to give quality education and equal rights to all citizens of SA, the government has introduced a bursary system that gives financial support to all students who are now enrolled in the various Tvet Colleges.
If you are a South African student enrolled in any of the Tvet Colleges and come from a household with an annual income of less than R350,000, you qualify for Nsfas. This funding covers tuition fees, accommodation, transport, and study materials for qualifying students. For the academic year 2026-2027, the application for Nsfas application for Tvet Colleges will be opened in September 2025 and the applications will be closing on the 15th of December 2025.
NSFAS generally funded programs at Tvet Colleges include Engineering Studies (National Certificate Vocational [NC(V)] NQF levels 2-4 and Report 191 N1-N6) in fields like Engineering and Related Design, Electrical Infrastructure, Civil Engineering Construction, and Information Technology & Computer Science.
Business & Utility Studies (NC(V) NQF levels 2-4 and Report 191 N1-N6) are also covered, including Management, Marketing, Finance, Office Administration, Economics & Accounting, Education & Development, Hospitality, Tourism, Safety in Society, and Transport & Logistics. Additionally, NSFAS provides funding for Pre-Learning Programmes (PLP)
